Silvia Molinari
Silvia Molinari was born in Piacenza in 1976. She graduated in decorative techniques from the Paolo Toschi Institute of Art in Parma. She lives in the countryside of Emilia-Romagna, in a house surrounded by fields and the rhythms of nature. Her artistic career includes the study of and experimentation with various pictorial disciplines, but it is through watercolor that she best expresses her talent. The combination of the simplest elements (water, pigment and graphite on paper) are, through her technique, the best means of interpreting the subjects she loves to capture: shrubs, vegetable scraps, leaves and wild flowers that seem to have slipped on the white paper a moment ago; she is deeply interested in weeds, those tiny and tenacious heroines of the third landscape synthesized by Gilles Clément. Her watercolors begin with elbows on a windowsill, rummaging in drawers, collecting things, walking. Silvia is represented in Italy by the Salamon Fine Art gallery in Milan and her works are part of the permanent collection of JGO Gallery, Park City, Utah. Among the exhibitions, personal and collective, in which she took part: regional headquarters of the Venice Biennale, Emilia-Romagna; Affordable Art Fair in New York and Milan; Palazzo Incontro, Rome; Ginza 1 Chome gallery in Tokyo. Since 2017 she has collaborated with LIPU, starting with a urban artistic event curated by the Kreativhouse Studio for the Nationl Assembly of Parma. In 2019 she illustrated the text Conoscerli, Proteggerli, dedicated to the recognition and conservation status of birds in Italy. She collaborates with the Gardenia magazine, for which she illustrated its agenda for the years 2011, 2017 and 2020. She illustrated the poetic book Il Cosario, Edizioni Corsare, 2016 and Prendere il volo, published by Topipittori in 2020. Since 2019 she has been the brand ambassador of Borciani e Bonazzi, the excellent brush company, which has dedicated an innovative line to her, the 700 Series, refined by combining their respective skills. For about fifteen years she has been leading watercolours seminars and courses. She collaborates with illustration magazines, profit and non-profit brands.
